This shoot took place in Brighton. I took these images in the early evening because I wanted to practise photographing when the natural lighting wasn't so bright. I went around the pier and beach to do my shoot. I am pleased with the final outcomes of these shoots because they have taught me a lot about different techniques I could use in my final shoot. I changed the settings in my camera a lot depending on the subject of my photographs and the effect I wanted. For example in some of my images there is a shallow depth of field because I thought that would have a better effect on the image.
The main objective of this shoot was to practice with different types of lighting, from the natural lighting of the sky to the artificial lighting of the lit up pier. I believe this shoot will help my in final shoot if I choose to do it on a location. It has also made me more confident to shoot in less lit up areas as I had never done it before this shoot.
The image below was taken from the beach. The lighting is mainly natural but there is also some light coming from the pier. Th tone of this image is very grey, which is contrasted with the illuminated pier lighting.
This image was also taken during the daytime so it has a great amount of natural lighting, you can see a glow however beneath the sign which gives off a different kind of warm light.
The below images were all taken at night, so the lighting is coming from artificial from the pier or other lights. To take these images I had to use a longer shutter speed to ensure the images came out well lit. I also experimented with aperture in these images so they had a large depth of field.
Doing this shoot will help my final shoot, because it has helped me learn about different types of lighting and what settings I should put my camera on when it gets darker and if there is artificial lighting/
