This is the original images:
- First all of I duplicated the layer.
- Then using the quick selection tool, I traced around the parrot.
- To tidy up the selection I held down the shift key and using the magnetic select tool I selected the details of the parrot that the quick selection tool used.
- I then clicked the Refine Edges tool and selected 'On White'.
- Next I selected 'Smart Radius' and increased it it to 55. I also increased 'Contrast to 8% to sharpen and make the selection more accurate.
- I then increased 'Shift Edge' value to 20% and selected 'Decontaminate Colour' to remove the blue fringe from the background.
- Finally I selected 'Output to New Layer with Mask.
