Keffer is a street photographer who is most famously know for taking black and white photographs of Paris, mainly at night-time. Over the years, Keffer has done a range of interesting and abstract projects from photographing objects and people whilst they are under a cover, to a series of portraits and lifestyle photography in collaboration with luxury hotels.
Keffer almost always shoots this photographs in black and white, the subject of his images vary from people, landscape, and architecture. Due to his images being shot at night, it allows certain details and shadows to be shown in his photography that wouldn't be shown otherwise. A lot of his work focuses on shape and shadowing due to the dark tones. From researching his work, I am unable to tell which processes he uses, however, I can make an assumption that he uses a DSLR with a wide frame lens in a lot of his images. It seems to me also that he does not edit his images too much except for making them black and white.
In his series 'The Night Day' his purpose was to show the audience the different between Paris at night compared to in during the day. The photographs in this series go from showing shadows and form through the architecture to photographing night clubs and the people within them. The mood his photography gives out is very dramatic and secretive due to the dynamic black and white colours.
