This technical shoot will be done using Photoshop. I will be experimenting with some images that I have already taken and creating a vignette effect around the focal point of the image. I have wanted to create a vignette image for a long time but I have never really had a reason to do so. Here is an example of vignette photography that I would like my final outcomes to resemble:
The idea of a vignette image is to show of the focal point of the image more by darkening the border, making the subject seem brighter. The vignette effect is usually done when the focal point of the image is in the center of the canvas because that is where the photograph would be the brightest, but in my experiment I would like to put the focal points of the image off-centre and see if it is still aesthetically pleasing.
The equipment I will need will only be the programme Photoshop and some photographs that I have taken. I will use a tutorial online to teach me how to do it properly as I am unsure how it is done. This experiment will hopefully be quite effective when it comes to my final pieces because it may make them look even better if the focal point is standing out more. This experiment will also help me expand my Photoshop knowledge so if I desire to create a vignette again I will not have to look it up.
